TIME, that’s my word for this year…2020. Last year I chose JOY as my word and it made all the difference in my life. My reasoning for choosing the word TIME as my word to live by is that TIME is all encompassing. I must have TIME to do virtually anything in my life and if I focus on how much time I have and how much time I am using, I am sure that the actions I take will be more pronounced and have more value in my life.
Last year, while it had many beautiful memories, seemed liked a whirlwind ride…one that I couldn’t get off of. I couldn’t slow down to truly experience all the beautiful moments and all the wonderful interactions I had in relationships. Also, since it was so busy, I discovered at the end of the year, that there were people in my life, important people, that I failed to see or even speak with much and it wasn’t due to their lack of trying.
My theory here is that if I put my focus on time, I will be more organized, more centered, not only on the everyday things, but on all things happening around me and to me. It’s basically putting more of a focus on things I value and define as important in my life.
“TIME stands still for no one” and it is this very saying that I reflected on when choosing my word for this year. I don’t want it to stand still…if it did, then life couldn’t happen. I want the opposite. I want to fill my TIME with so many experiences and learning experiences that I will feel like I have truly lived intentionally and purposefully while encountering life to its fullest.
My focus, while I value TIME in my life this year will be…
Time to spend with God
Time to show more empathy and learn to understand others more
Time to focus more on who I am
Time to read
Time to write
Time to love and show love through my actions
Time for adventures and to experience new things
Time to build and encourage others
Time to focus on health
Time to cherish the moments
Time to LIVE
Time to build better relationships and give more value to my family and those I care so much about
There are many seasons in every year…like these excerpts from the Bible verse says…
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born, a time to plant, a time to heal, a time to build, a time to laugh, and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love…and a time for PEACE
There is a time for everything. And, so, TIME it is!
Lesson learned, if I focus on time, I can be more intentional about everything I do and maybe, just maybe, I can also experience the blogger world and the rest of the world much more often and more fully😄. Here’s to hoping!!
